Foreign students who need visa to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina need to apply for visa in BiH Embassy in their home countries or if there is no BiH embassy in the closest Embassy (the list of BiH embassies in the world: http://www.mvp.gov.ba/). SGSB will send the letter of guarantee for its student to the Embassy. The letter will also state that a student is admitted into SGSB MBA program which will last for 2 years. The visa is for 90 days.
Upon arrival to Bosnia and Herzegovina SGSB student needs to go the department of foreign affaires and submit the application for temporary residence for the duration of one year. The procedure is the same as described above.
Foreign students who do not need visa to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina are not obliged to obtain student visa while studying in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are requested to get temporary residence permit for the purpose of education for the duration of one year. Temporary residence permit is to be extended every year.
Where to go and how to apply for the temporary residence permit in Sarajevo Canton?
You need to submit the following papers:
Temporary residence for the purpose of education
1. Two (2) application forms for a temporary residence permit (form N°1);
2. Two (2) copies of every page of passport translated by certified court interpreter (one of those copies must be certified by competent municipal authority);
3. Evidence of enrolment into an educational institution for the current year/ original, for the purpose of granting temporary residence in BiH;
4. Evidence of scholarship costs payment or other costs payment / certified copy;
5. Health insurance registration form/ certified copy;
6. Evidence of possession of real estate or rent agreement of real estate (to confirm that accommodation is provided) / certified copy;
7. Evidence of the existence of means of subsistence
a) the statement, certified by the competent municipal authority, that BiH citizen undertakes to ensure support and other expenses related to stay of the concerned alien in BiH certified copy of ID and residence registration form or employment contract and confirmation on registration with the competent Pension and Invalidity Insurance Fund/ certified copy,
b) bank confirmation of existence of a monthly disposable income to the amount of 800 BAM;
c) evidence of existence of other reliable means needed for support and health care / original or copy certified by competent authority.
8. Medical certificate issued not more than three months following the date of submitting the application, showing that applicant does not suffer from a disease of high risk for the community and/or that he/she is capable for work. Medical certificate can be issued by following medical institutions:
a) JU Dom zdravlja Kantona Sarajevo
b) JU Zavod za medicinu rada Kantona Sarajevo
c) Zavod za zdravstvenu zaštitu radnika u saobracaju
d) Zavod za zdravstvenu zaštitu radnika MUP-a
9. Photo (if application is submitted for the first time)
10. Alien's residence registration card ( for inspection)
11. Tax of 50 USD (20 USD for the stay up to three months) in the equivalent value of BAM
